Grahame Hudson thanks the Liberal Democrat voters in Rutland and Melton

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the people in Rutland and Melton, who voted for me and the Liberal Democrats on Thursday May 6th 2010 in the General Election.

To achieve a 7.2% increase in our share of the vote, a 3.7% swing from the Conservatives to the Liberal Democrats and to push Labour into third place was a great result for us, based on long hours and very hard work by my agent and our dedicated team of helpers. We are now looking forward to building on this success in future elections. The Liberal Democrats are now the only true opposition to the Conservatives in this constituency and will continue to stand up for local people in our area.
